That being said, I am completely opposed to any reduction of standards at any level, and with the changes in the math curriculum that have been implemented this year it seems to me that the material is being watered down so that more average students can understand it and advanced students are not being stretched in the way that they were when there was a specific curriculum for algebra, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, calculus, etc.
